Setting: deep within your gut, all the time.  1999.  Right now.  The microvillus-gut lumen interface.
Characters: alkaline phosphatase (an enzyme, green); microvillus membrane (part of your intestine, red), bacterial invaders (want to kill you, not pictured).
Action: alkaline phosphatase sorted into vesicles, released into gut lumen by microvilli: death to the bacterial invaders.
Style: tending towards entropy, jumping electrons, cleaving phosphates: passive and active, chemistry is automatic.
Ideas: the intestine must be protected.  No intestine=no digestion=defeat.
